takes place 25 April – 3 May 2020 at Halvorsbøle, Norway
This intensive course has been an annual event for nearly fifty years. It is a unique opportunity to see yourself and others behind the façades. The course is suitable for first-timers as well as those with previous experience.
We all have many roles to fill in our lives – as employees, leaders, partners, parents and friends. In each role, we need to know and understand how we are perceived by others. We also need to understand both verbal and nonverbal communication. In order to change some of our patterns, we need to explore what lies behind our ways of relating to ourselves and others.
The Acem Training in Interpersonal Communication helps us to enhance our sensitivity and increase our self-insight. The various group processes stimulate our empathy and emotional intelligence. This will make a difference in daily life, both in personal relations and in the workplace, often even in complex situations such as conflict management and leadership.
Quite a few participate in more than one communication course. According to experience, the group dynamics are different every time. This provides new opportunities for personal development, with new effects on both work and social networks.
The Acem Training in Interpersonal Communication is based on competence that has been developed over several decades by highly dedicated volunteers, including medical doctors and clinical psychologists. The first communication course took place in 1970 and was part of Acem’s leadership training. From the beginning of the 1980s, the course has been offered annually for all Acem meditators.
